space effects sequence. Starting with a space ship and a camera move,
John takes the viewer through a step-by-step look at how to create a
sequence that includes following a space ship as it breaks free of a
tractor beam, launches out of planetary orbit, then flies through a
field of asteroids and starbirth nebula clouds.John uses Maya's
Dynamics system to build elements in the shots, demonstrating their use

Authors Review

Anyone who knows about 3D, who knows what it takes to learn Maya can
tell you how confused and fustrated you can get with it. And anyone who
has looked for training material, whether from websites, books, or
video can tell you how scattered the material is presented, how cryptic
the information is handled. I'm sure we have all, at one point, made
criticisms of these materials and have commented how we can do it
better. Well, this DVD is just that. It is an effort to provide the
exact techniques that is used by industry professionals to generate a
character model using Alias Maya. Also, anyone who has ever tried to
learn Maya will tell you how expensive it can be. The second part of
this DVD was to make it so that secrets from professionals didn't cost
you an arm and leg like so much other Maya training materials. This DVD
contains massive amount of information for a really low cost. It
doesn't just cover how to model the head or just the hand, it covers
how to model a character from beginning to end. I had a lot of fun
making it and I hope that you will enjoy learning with it.

ImageModeler allows to measure and create photo-textured 3D objects from multiple photographs taken all around the objects.

ImageModeler is an "Object Creator" which takes as an assumption that
you turn around the object when taking the pictures. Multiple images
(more than 2) are needed as input (no panorama). 2D to 3D calibration
is based on photogrammetry algorithms using a feature matching
